RESPONSE TO DATE:

To date, the Millersville Collapse Team (now the Lancaster County Rescue Task Force) has responded to 117 calls since its official formation in 1994.

86       Incidents involving shoring to a dwelling or business due to a vehicle accident or weather related incidents

5          Trench Rescue incidents

3          EMS incidents where they needed our assistance to remove the patient

2          Water Rescue incidents where they needed cribbing or shoring

2          Incidents where a fire company needed additional cribbing or lumber at an incident

1          Building Collapse with injuries

1          Barn Collapse (w/ animals trapped)

1          Barn Collapse (w/person trapped)

1          Well Rescue incident

2          Cave rescue incident

1          Building Explosion incident to assist the State Police Investigators

The team has responded out of County two (2) times (Berks County and Cecil County Maryland) – both for trench incidents

Since 1994 there have been five (7) incidents where patients/victims where still trapped at the arrival of the team.

PRESENTATIONS:

The team has done multiple presentations over the years to other fire companies and construction organizations. The fire company presentations cover our team capabilities and what the local fire company operations should be as a first responder to these incidents. The construction organization presentations include trench awareness and a presentation about us as a team.
