The Collapse team responded to a MAYDAY CALL in Columbia Borough on Perry and S. 2nd St. The Collapse Team responded with 8 Techs and 4 Operation members.

When a MAYDAY CALL in Lancaster County is called, it additionally brings 1 truck (Trk 6-6), 1 rescue (res 6-8), 1 medic (Med 7-72), 1 ambulance (Amb 41), and the COLLAPSE TEAM to the scene. The Collapse Team was broken into two work groups. The first was a 6 member RIT team and the second was a 6 member equipment team.

The first RIT team established by Command was placed into service and the MAYDAY TASK FORCE was moved from stagging to the scene. The Task Force was placed into service as the RIT Divison. There was a team placed on Side C (Charlie), which was made up of Truck 6-6 crews. There was another team placed on Side A (Alpha), which was Rescue 6-8's crew. The Collapse Team's 6 man RIT was placed so they could move to assist either of the other two teams and the remaining 6 members were staged with additional portable equipment down the street. Chief 6-5 was the RIT OFFICER at the Command Post.

The "Side A RIT" moved two times during their time there, for reports of firefighters in trouble, but stood down after the folks were accounted for.

A good job by the Command 8 and the Command Staff.
