A dwelling fire dispatch at supper time on Friday sent Engine 6-5-4, Engine 6-5-3, Rescue 6-5 and EMS unit from 6-12 to the 1500 block of Manor Blvd. Additionally Engine 6-5-2 responded.

AC Wiker arrived to find smoke showing from the front door. He found a working fire in the basement. The six person crew on Engine 4 arrived and placed two lines in service and knocked the bulk of the fire down quickly. An extended overhaul kept crews busy for some time. PSP Fire Marshal was called and determined the fire was caused by electrical problem.

Crews from 6-8, 6-7, 6-6, 7-15 assisted at the call. A West Lancaster Fireman was transported to the hospital for a leg injury. The Red Cross assisted the family.

While 6-7 covered the 6-5 house a walk-in EMS run happened. A mother bought her child who had fallen off of their bicycle with a head injury. The engine crew assisted with patient care while waiting for an ambulance.

Additionally, a person drove up against the police roadblock only to be arrested for driving under the influence. They had the roadway blocked for the fire company during the fire.
