The Collapse Team responds to a National Guard Drill held in Lancaster County Friday. The Collapse Team responded as part of the Regional Rescue Task Force with 12 members and Appolo.
Part of the drill was a collapsed parking deck with unknown patients trapped. Crews worked hand in hand with PA Company 1 Strike Team, the York County ATR Strike Team and the National Guard Extrication Team. Crews located 5 victims through-out the morning and worked at removing them. Crews had to break through concrete at multiple places to enter the parking deck. To add to the drama multiple explosions rocked the area. By lunch time the crews had removed all the patients or victims.
Sq Leader Amos Hess (w Appolo) and Squad Leader Gary Hess were assigned to the Recon Squad (Squad #1). The rest of the team members were assigned to Squad #2 with Squad Leader Zechman and Chief Eshleman was in the Command Group.
