The testing started Friday night with a written test. Then at 8 am on Saturday the practical testing started. Each applicant was tested through different aspects of a trenching operation. Anything from Command to nailing struts in the hole. As temperatures reached into the 90's crews shored a "L" Trench, treated and extricated a patient from under a 24" pipe at the bottom of the trench and terminated the operation. All under the watchful eye of the Bucks Co Fire School Staff.
It has been stated that these members are the only group in the State of PA that has completed all but one of the NFPA 1006 Rescue Certification tests.
To date they have completed:
Core, Vehicle and Machinery, Confined Space, Building Collapse, and now Trench certification. They will be doing their last certification "Rope" in the very future.
Additionally, two members also completed their written test for Safety Officer during the weekend.
