Real world Rapid Intervention Training was held in the Brookwood Court Complex this past Tuesday Night with over 80 participants operating.
Members from 6-5 (Millersville), 6-8 (West Lancaster), 6-2 (Highville), 7-8 (Washington Boro), 6-6 (Lancaster Township), and 6-7 (Rohrerstown) practiced rescuing one of their own through multiple drills in a four unit apartment building, lead by Chief Eshleman from the 6-5 house.
RIT Teams breached, cut, moved, lifted, hauled and removed a simulated "downed" fire fighter from a basement location, under full smoke conditions. One of the operations was to breach two full floors and into a basement area. Then removed the fire fighter through both floor spaces to safety.
Chief Eshleman and all the members wish to Thank "Student Lodging Corporation" for the use of the apartment building. A special thanks to Brian Talmadge, Geoffrey Beers and CEO Teresa Hummel.
